Annual Cost of Coverage

The Hoosier Horsemen’s Association is a Mutual Membership Association and not an insurance company. Unlike an insurance company where there is a set annual premium for coverage, the Association’s cost for coverage is a combination of an Annual Membership Fee plus periodic Death Assessment Fees.

To maintain coverage, each equine member must pay an Annual Membership Fee and all billed Death Assessment Fees. A Death Assessment Fee is billed to all members upon the death of another equine member.

The Program (Weanling, Standard or Senior) and Coverage Level within the Program, that each equine member selects, determines the fees.

The formula for calculating the annual cost of coverage is:
